Nine hiring for climate/energy reporter

Administration at MediaConnect Australia

at Sydney

Nine newspapers The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald have opened applications for a climate and energy reporter to be based in Canberra. The reporter will be primarily assigned to the papers’ Parliament House bureau. Their reporting must be balanced for release over print and digital platforms. The assignment will also give the reporter a chance to cultivate more sources for their coverage, which may aid in national decision-making on Australia’s environment and energy issues. Candidates for the position must have an extensive journalism background, strong communication skills, and have demonstrated an ability to produce accurate, credible reports. They should also have detailed knowledge of Australia’s corporate environment and federal politics. They must also be eligible to live and work in the ACT.
