His dedication to the stations and the industry was evident, with Covington joking on social media that he had been at 2GF for around 40% of its existence. Covington's retirement marks the end of an era in local radio. His contributions to 2GF and FM 1047 have been significant, and he leaves behind a legacy of excellence and commitment to serving the community through radio broadcasting.  

9News Queensland to commemorate ANZAC Day with Live Dawn service broadcast

9News Queensland is set to broadcast Brisbane’s annual Dawn Service live from the Shrine of Remembrance in ANZAC Square, continuing its tradition of paying tribute to ANZAC Day. The broadcast will air on Channel 9 and 9Now this Thursday. Renowned news presenter Andrew Lofthouse will lead the coverage on 9News Queensland as he has for over a decade. The service will begin at 4.28 am, mirroring the time of the historic landing at Gallipoli in 1915, and will continue until the first light at dawn breaks.
