WE Buchan adds new clients and staff

WE Buchan logoIntegrated communications agency WE Buchan has welcomed new clients and staff into the fold.

On the staffing side, Canadian Samantha Eng comes in as account director for corporate. She brings with her ten years of communications experience, gained from serving in the Nova Scotia Health Authority and two Toronto agencies, among others.

Marissa Zammit is onboard as senior account director for investor relations. Her communications career spans almost 20 years, which includes stints at Macquarie Bank, CBA, and Charter Hall, Nutrimetrics Australia and Uplift Media. She recently wrapped up seven months as director at Cannings Strategic Communications.  

Charlotte Wood is in as account director for consumer.

WE Buchan’s new client signings are all on the tech circuit.

UiPath offers robotic process automation solutions for business operators. Bid Energy specialises in energy spend management solutions while Knosys is a Melbourne-based knowledge management software vendor.

The new client signings and hires came in the wake of WE Buchan welcoming new GM and technology head Nat Bradford.

New Red Agency head of social appointed

Red Agency Australia has chosen marketing veteran Amaury Treguer to be its new executive director of social.

The Havas Group stated this week that Treguer will spearhead Red Agency Australia’s social team expansion. He will assume the spot from incumbent Davitha Giassi, who is heading to the US to be part of the Havas Group’s US PR division starting April 1, 2019. CEO Sarah Trombetta will be his immediate superior.   

Treguer wields 15 years’ experience in the marcomms circuit, with his record including social stints at Circul8, We Are Social, the TMTG Group, and most recently, The Haus.

Reymond Communications Enters Sydney PR Market

Windsor, Victoria PR agency Reymond Communications has opened a new office in Darlinghurst, Sydney, reported B and T.

Agency managing director Joanna Reymond-Burns said the move was timely considering Reymond has grown its position in the past six years of business. A rebrand and launching of a new website accompanied the move as well.

Account manager Isabella Donato has been assigned to manage the Sydney office, although Reymond-Burns will check up from time to time.

Flaunt Marketing bags fresh client trove

PR agency Flaunt Marketing has secured a new batch of clients spread out across multiple industries, reported B and T.

For the consumer electronics and technology practice, Flaunt was able to sign up Melbourne audio products maker nura and Tangerine Telecom. Tangerine offers fixed-line NBN broadband packages and cellphone SIMs.

Funtastic and Blue Illusion are in the consumer retail section. Funtastic specialises in developing and marketing new brands for family-centric products. Blue Illusion is a French-themed fashion house based in Melbourne.

Flaunt will take on the promotions duties for food industry trade show Fine Food Australia as it gets ready for this year’s edition from September 9 to 12.

Last but not least, Flaunt also has the opportunity to generate awareness for noted artists colony Montsalvat in Eltham, Victoria.

History Will Be Kind scores Etihad account

Communications agency History Will Be Kind has scored a new service deal with UAE airline Etihad Airways.

The contract calls for History Will Be Kind to increase brand awareness for Etihad in the Australian consumer and trade market. The carrier has had an underwhelming performance in the past three years.

Etihad Airways ANZ GM Sarah Built said the new partnership will dovetail with Etihad’s new “Choose Well” customer-centric booking system.  

History Will Be Kind founder Emma-Jane Granleese was just as ecstatic at the new opportunity.

WE Buchan top executives promoted

Marcomms agency WE Buchan is making some executive-level changes from 1 April.

The agency announced that WE Buchan CEO Rebecca Wilson (pictured) is now promoted to EVP for Australia/Singapore as part of parent firm WE Communications’ new Global Leadership Team, under company global COO/president of international Kass Sells.

The new post will have Wilson gaining oversight for WE Buchan as well as WE Communications’ Singapore division, which has Jeremy Seow as the new CEO.

Wilson turns over the CEO seat to managing director Gemma Hudson.

Missy and Mister Mischief land Maxwell Foods account

Condell Park company Maxwell Foods Products has engaged the services of twin agencies Missy Mischief PR and Mister Mischief Creative.

B and T reported the new deal will have both agencies handle PR and social media work for Maxwell’s “Fuel by Nature” brand. Trade Partners, one of Maxwell’s clients, brought Maxwell and Missy Mischief PR and Mister Mischief Creative together.

VMLY&R forms New Zealand branch

Marcomms conglomerate WPP AUNZ has activated a New Zealand division of satellite agency VMLY&R.

The company announced today that the new branch will be an amalgamation of Y&R’s Wellington office and the Assignment Group. Current Y&R Wellington MD Fleur Head is to lead the new VMLY&R Wellington branch. James Mok is already in place running VMLY&R’s Auckland office.

VMLY&R AUNZ executives Aden Hepburn and Pete Bosilkovski, and WPP AUNZ New Zealand managing director Sven Baker are the NZ teams’ superiors.

“Combining Assignment and Y&R with the vast scale and capability of VMLY&R globally will create an incredibly exciting opportunity to build an agency capable of delivering truly connected customer experiences,” said Baker.
