KickAss Launches PowerBoss: An Integrated Off-Grid Power System

KickAss Products has announced the release of the KickAss PowerBoss, a compact, all-in-one off-grid power system designed and engineered entirely in-house. Unlike conventional setups that rely on separately sourced components, the PowerBoss offers a fully integrated solution for managing AC and DC power in mobile and remote environments.

The unit combines a 2kW pure sine wave inverter with automatic transfer switch, an 80A ACDC charger, a 40A DCDC + MPPT solar charger, and 50A of DC load monitoring into a single, pre-wired enclosure. An integrated Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB) provides safety and compliance without the need for additional external wiring or switching devices.

The unit is entirely plug-and-play, requiring no complex installation. Its compact form factor allows for straightforward integration into canopies, caravans, off-road campers, and service vehicles.
 

The PowerBoss supports simultaneous AC and solar charging, and includes multiple monitoring options: an onboard display, a portable Bluetooth screen, and a mobile app interface. This provides real-time visibility over key parameters such as charge input, load draw, and system performance, both locally and remotely.

Development of the PowerBoss has taken place over several years within the KickAss engineering team, with a focus on electrical integration, thermal efficiency, and field reliability. Unlike generic "power boxes" that assemble third-party components into a shared housing, the PowerBoss has been built as a single, unified system — designed to operate as a cohesive unit from both a hardware and software perspective.
