Scandi Group Launches 9.8-Star Nordica Display in Wingham

Announcement posted by Scandi Group 24 Sep 2025

Setting a new standard for sustainable prefab granny flats on the Mid North Coast

Wingham, NSW - September 24, 2025 - Scandi Group has announced the construction of its latest display project in Wingham, NSW: a modified Nordica granny flat designed to achieve an impressive 9.8-star energy efficiency rating. The display will showcase how precision-engineered prefabricated building systems can deliver both speed and sustainability to the Australian housing market.

The Nordica display is expected to be completed by the end of the year, with its official opening planned for early 2026. Once open, builders, industry professionals, and the public will have the opportunity to walk through the home and experience first-hand the comfort, style, and performance of Scandi Group's mass-timber prefab system.

"This display is more than just a granny flat — it's proof of what's possible when advanced prefab technology meets sustainable design," said Lina Urbona, Co-Founder of Scandi Group. "We're showing builders and homeowners that achieving near-perfect energy efficiency doesn't need to come at the expense of style or buildability."

Scandi Group supplies over 70% of the building components, manufactured in Europe and engineered in Australia, enabling builders to deliver projects faster and with greater consistency. The Wingham display will serve as a training and demonstration hub, giving builders the chance to see the system in action and explore partnership opportunities with Scandi Group.

The project also highlights the Mid North Coast as a growing hub for sustainable housing innovation.

"Regional Australia deserves the same access to cutting-edge housing solutions as major cities," added Remi Buika, Co-Founder of Scandi Group. "The Nordica display is our way of bringing future-proof building practices directly to local communities and builders."

Key Features of the Nordica Display

  • 9.8-star energy rating — far exceeding minimum compliance.
  • Prefab speed — from slab to lock-up in a matter of days.
  • Mass-timber structure — low-carbon, durable, and sustainable.
  • Scandi design — blending Nordic style with Australian conditions.

The display will officially open in early 2026, with invitations extended to both local homeowners and builders seeking to expand into sustainable prefab housing.
