Empowering Perinatal Wellness: COPE select Personify Care for next phase of national rollout of iCOPE to enhance mental health of expectant parents across Australian Maternity Hospitals and Child and Family Health Services.

Announcement posted by Personify Care 18 Nov 2025

The perinatal period, encompassing pregnancy and the year following birth, is a critical time when many new parents are at risk of developing mental health conditions.

Recent data highlights this urgent need, with 30% of parents at risk of perinatal mental health conditions, and over 10% experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression, with 5% reporting thoughts of self-harm.

The iCOPE platform, already utilised by 100's of public maternity hospitals and child and family health services nationally, has been instrumental in the early identification of these vital concerns.

Dr. Nicole Highet, Founder and Executive Director, Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE),  "As the peak body in perinatal mental health, COPE has been recognised as a world leader in the early detection of perinatal mental health through digital screening.

Underpinned by Australia's national guidelines, iCOPE has revolutionised approaches to screening.

We are excited to be collaborating with Personify Care to further extend the capabilities of digital screening through the launch of iCOPE 2.0.

The new platform is further supporting front-line clinicians in their clinical decision making, whilst empowering patients with customised screening tools and patient information in 32 languages."

"At Personify Care, we are deeply committed to leveraging technology to create more connected, efficient, and consumer-centred healthcare experiences," said Ben Hope, Head of Operations, Personify Care.

"Our partnership with COPE and our role in supporting the iCOPE platform is a testament to this commitment. This will not only significantly reduce the administrative burden on clinicians by streamlining screening processes (data visible in the EMR of the health service through our 2-way standards-based interoperability support), more importantly, will empower them with comprehensive insights into a woman's mental health. This support will enable more coordinated care, reduce duplication, and ultimately lead to improved outcomes for expectant parents, infants, and families across Australia."
