HazardCo Acquires Gtee to Simplify Compliance From Site to Handover

The acquisition brings together two platforms built specifically for the unique challenges local builders face every day in residential construction across New Zealand and Australia.  The acquisition comes at a critical time for New Zealand residential builders preparing for major legislative changes under the Building Amendment Bill. The reforms introduce proportionate liability and government mandatory home warranties—including a 1-year defect warranty and a 10-year structural warranty for all consented new builds and renovations valued at $100,000 or more. These changes are set to update the construction landscape: liability will now sit proportionately with whoever is at fault, be it the building company, council, or engineer, meaning councils will no longer act as the "last man standing" in defect claims.

For the NZ market, Gtee gives building companies the tools to help manage all the requirements of the upcoming government mandatory home warranty reforms.
