Edit on the Spot Turns 200 Hours of Conference Footage Into Hundreds of Publishable Videos in Minutes

Announcement posted by Edit on the Spot 25 Sep 2026

The live-event AI company has been named to TechCrunch's Startup Battlefield 200

SAN FRANCISCO, 2026

The best moment of any conference happens once, in one room, in front of a few hundred people. Then it disappears into a hard drive for a week.

Edit on the Spot was built to do in minutes what usually takes a team of editors a week.

The company has been named to TechCrunch's Startup Battlefield 200, selected from thousands of applicants worldwide, and will exhibit at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, held October 13 to 15 at Moscone West in San Francisco.

Its AI-powered infrastructure processes live video as an event happens, turning livestreams into branded short-form clips and full-session video that can be prepared for distribution in real time and works for all recordings -  from a single-camera room to a multi-stream enterprise show running dozens of stages from one dashboard.

"Marketing managers always want the footage during the event so they can share it while it is most relevant, but the video production team could not get it to them until the next day or the next week," said Martin Renaud, Co-Founder and CPO of Edit on the Spot. "With Edit on the Spot they can watch clips being created on the fly."

That resets the economics of live events. Sponsors get proof of value while the room is still full. Marketing teams post into the moment instead of the aftermath. Video teams stop spending their week on triage and go back to making things worth watching.

"It used to be that an editor would have to rewatch an entire conference of recordings of, say, 200 hours, but now with Eventcut this can be done on the same day within half an hour," said Martin.

About Edit on the Spot

Edit on the Spot develops AI infrastructure that turns live events into a media channel. Its technology transforms livestreams into instant branded video clips and full-session content, helping event organizers, media teams and organizations create and distribute content without relying on traditional post-production workflows.

About Startup Battlefield

Startup Battlefield is TechCrunch's flagship early-stage program. More than 1,700 companies have gone through it, and alumni — including Dropbox, Cloudflare, Discord, Fitbit, Mint and Trello — have raised more than $32 billion and produced over 250 exits, including acquisitions by Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Uber and Amazon.

Battlefield 200 companies exhibit across all three days of Disrupt, and a shortlist pitches live on the Disrupt Stage. One company leaves with $100,000 in equity-free funding.

Disrupt 2026 is expected to draw more than 10,000 attendees from 113 countries, roughly 40% of them C-suite — which makes it the largest live stress test Edit on the Spot could ask for. The company will be cutting the event as it happens.
