SANYO Oceania Pty. Ltd. (SANYO Oceania) has announced that some SANYO Convection Grill Microwave Ovens (EM-C8787B) sold in Target stores nationally may cause severe electric shock to the user during operation.This is due to some of the printed circuit boards within the internal control panel having electrical contact with the small buttons on the external control panel.
As the safety of customers is ‘the’ highest priority, SANYO Oceania would like to ask owners of the affected model to stop using their microwave ovens immediately and unplug the power cord. The company is also issuing a recall for all affected products, and delivering the message through a broad range of media organisations.
SANYO Oceania would like to express our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused to the customers concerned.

2. Nature of the Defect and Resolution Method
In some microwave ovens with the model number above, there is an insulation defect caused by the faulty plating of the operation buttons. As this poses a risk of electrical shock during operation, SANYO Oceania is recalling the products concerned and giving owners a refund.
All other SANYO microwave oven models can be used without any concern.
3. SANYO's Recall Measures
(1) Advertisements are being placed in major newspapers advising owners of the affected products to stop using them immediately and unplug the power cord.
(2) This notice has also been put up on the SANYO Oceania website.

(3) A toll-free call centre has been set up to receive customer inquiries.
(4) Refunds of the purchase price of the product will be given to customers. Please contact to the call centre to arrange for a refund.
4. Check the Model Number
If a customer has a SANYO microwave oven, please stop using the products immediately, unplug the power cord and check the model number on the back label.
