Freycinet Lodge, located within the Freycinet National Park on Tasmania’s East Coast, has completed an extensive refurbishment of its 10 Premier Suites, earning a 4.5 star rating by AAA.
The cabins have been given a complete makeover, with new, larger granite bathrooms, a separate double spa bath overlooking the picturesque natural setting, new soft furnishings and updated modern conveniences. For the first time, these cabins will include a television and DVD player.
“While our guests are all attracted to Freycinet Lodge for the amazing surrounding environment and our unique location within the national park, some are looking for a few additional luxuries to compliment their nature-driven experience,” Freycinet Lodge General Manager Meredith Churchill said.
“Our refurbishment of the Premier Cabins took this into account and has provided a few little extras that we know our guests are going to enjoy.
“But we still have our other 50 cabins in a variety of styles, including two-room cabins for families, to cater for guests wanting a more pared-back experience away from their everyday lives.”
Ms Churchill said the refurbishment complimented the outstanding experience Freycinet Lodge had become well-known for, including award-winning dining at The Bay Restaurant featuring the best in local produce and wines and friendly and professional customer service.
“Freycinet Lodge also provides a gateway for visitors to experience the amazing natural environment of the Freycinet Peninsula by land, sea or air, including the world-renowned Wineglass Bay,” she said.
Freycinet Lodge has been recognised as one of Australia’s leading and most innovative ecotourism products, with Advanced Eco Certification from Ecotourism Australia. Advanced Eco Certification (the top level available from Ecotourism Australia) recognises businesses that “provide an opportunity to learn about the environment with an operator who is committed to achieving best practice when using resources wisely, contributing to the conservation of the environment and helping local communities”.
