Sydney Fast Ferries today became the first ferry service transporting commuters between Manly and Circular Quay to offer free Telstra 4G WiFi technology on all their vessels.
“Sydney Fast Ferries is thrilled to be leading the way by introducing ferry commuters to the latest technology! We were the first ferry service on this route to introduce our free 3G WiFi connection back in June 2010 when we recognised the amount of passengers connecting to the internet to receive emails, read the news and catch up with social media channels on the way to work. We are now the first ferry service transporting commuters between Manly and Circular Quay to upgrade to the latest, highest speed and most reliable WiFi connection with 4G,” Sydney Fast Ferries Managing Director John McPherson said.
“This connection is vital for our customers who live and work in a fast-paced world where they not only require a high-speed, reliable commuter service, but also the same in their wireless connections around them,” Mr McPherson said.
“We have been testing the 4G connection over the past week, and due to its popularity we are looking to get another WiFi hotspot for our top decks as well as our lower decks,” he said.
Sydney Fast Ferries operates the official fast ferry service, transporting commuters between Manly and Circular Quay during peak periods (Monday to Friday) in just 18 minutes. As well at the latest high-speed 4G technology, Sydney Fast Ferries offers superior customer service, free tea and coffee on board, free fresh fruit at Manly in the mornings, full pram and disability access, and comfortable, under-cover boarding conditions at Manly and Circular Quay.
