Release of New Book "Bubba & The Sweet Pea" Hopes To Teach Children The Value Of Self Worth

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA  31st  October 2012 – Gladys Boutros, an aspiring author, has announced the release of an illustrated children’s novel ‘Bubba And The Sweet Pea’. The book has been written in the hope of raising awareness for PBFD (a disease that causes parrots to lose their feathers) as well as teaching children the value of self worth. Initially, the book will be exclusively available for purchase at www.gladysboutros.com

Bubba And The Sweet Pea is an inspiring story about Bubba, a beautiful cockatoo, who begins to lose his feathers and sets out on an adventure in quest of getting his feathers back, only to learn through his struggles and fears, what it means to be truly beautiful.

With this story, Gladys Boutros has been able to find common ground with raising awareness and research funding for PBFD as well as standing up for children struggling with self worth.

Inspired by her beloved cockatoo, who lived with PBFD, Gladys saw similarities in the emotional behaviour of both animals and people.

‘It is now evident that the current social landscape is increasing children’s perception of their self image and self worth.  I believe that we need to reach out to young children and instil in them the confidence to overcome the challenges and learn what it truly means to be beautiful,’ said Gladys Boutros.
