Local Business to Offer a Helping Hand to Flood Affected Charities

Announcement posted by Elbowroom 31 Jan 2013

Brisbane based firm wants to loan emergency logistic equipment for free
Brisbane based business, Elbowroom, are extending an offer of a three month loan of pallet racking to Brisbane charities and not for profit organisations. The loan is intended to offer a temporary solution to those organisations that have been affected by the recent weather events.

After witnessing the 2011 floods, owner and director of Elbowroom, Mark Althus, knows all too well the cleanup involved in the aftermath of a weather disaster.

“The weather is not the only dangerous element in times like this. Once the storm has passed, we really get to see the damage left behind. Houses without power and access to food and clean water means supplies are low and donations are needed.  We saw an opportunity to contribute by offering the thing we know most about - storage logistics. It’s important to pitch in where you can so the community can re-group and repair as quickly as possible.”

The offer is open to any charity or not for profit located in the flood affected areas of Brisbane, but is limited to current availability of suitable stock. The equipment will be available for them for three months whilst inundated buildings are cleaned and repaired.

For any organisations that have temporary accommodation suitable for the installation, and would like to apply for the pallet racking loan, please free call Elbowroom directly 1800 034 889. Please note, as a QBSA licensed business, the racking will need to be installed by Elbowroom.
