New Song themes Launch Event

The two talented performers played their new song, ‘Slow Down’ to the audience of mostly high profile women in the financial services industry.  The AFA Inspire Initiative is a new program to help increase the presence of women in the advice industry, giving them support through mentoring, coaching, training and networking for career development.

This song was written specifically for the launch of this initiative.  They also played their first single, the Bon Jovi song, “Livin on a Prayer”, which Ms Parker-Kent sang on the recent blind auditions for the Voice.

Ms Parker-Kent also took to the stage as guest speaker and told her story of a tough journey with the message “You’ve got nothing to loose”. She told how her dream slowly died over her younger years and stayed dormant while she found love, marriage and the role of mum rewarding.  “Now with the support of friends, new hope and fresh determination I am taking each opportunity that presents itself”, said Ms Parker-Kent.  This story was well received by the audience.

Jack Sierra said that their involvement with the Inspire Initiative was an opportunity that they had to take up.

“It was great to be part of Inspire. The support we received from the audience was amazing. Lara’s story really touched people and it was the same at each launch event”, said Mr Sierra.

“I know there were people in the audience who have had tough times too.   As we told our story, they felt they could open up and tell us theirs.  We touched them with our music and that was the best gift of all”, said Ms Parker-Kent.

The new song was well received by the guests and is planned as one of the next songs to be listed on iTunes in the future.
