Announcement posted by Hear Better 07 Aug 2013
There is a new and independent hearing clinic at Indooroopilly, Lantos Place on Stamford Road, called Hear Better.
'I am thrilled to be able to offer my independent and high quality services to the people of Western Suburbs', Paula Stanz, Hear Better Owner and Principal Audiologist said.
'Many clinics in Australia today are owned by large hearing aid manufacturers, making them well disguised vehicles for selling their own hearing aids.
'After 13 years in the industry, I wanted to do more for my patients. I wanted to offer them the choice of hearing aids based on their needs, and most of all I wanted to provide a more personalised, impartial and ethical advice regarding their hearing loss and solution options' Paula said.
Over the years, Paula has worked as a clinical audiologist and audiology trainer for a leading hearing aid manufacturer, most recently at an Ashgrove clinic.
'Many of my patients are in high pressure jobs, such as lawyers and accountants, who gradually lose their hearing over a number of years and don't realise the extent of this hearing loss.
'They suffer through this hearing loss which affects their emotional and social well-being, their careers, relationships with friends and family, overall quality of life and general health.
'I want to give them the time they need to test their hearing thoroughly, talk to them about their options and give them my best advice without the pressure of selling a particular hearing aid brand. Having my own premium hearing services clinic gives me this flexibility' Paula Stanz stated.
'Modern hearing aids are small, comfortable, and nearly invisible and offer a wide range of functions. The hearing aids are now mini computers that improve hearing ability, speech recognition and hearing comfort.
'Hearing aids can be used in conjunction with several easy-to-use wireless hearing aid accessories, transmitting sound directly from a phone, television or iPod to the hearing aids' Paula said.
With one in six Australians being hearing impaired, deaf or having an ear disorder, hearing care is an important issue. Hearing Awareness Week, taking place from 25 August, is an opportunity for all of us to realise that merely 35% of people with hearing loss are older than 64, many are well below retirement age and still working.
'As part of my clinic opening special, I'm offering every patient who purchases a hearing aid a free premium electric dehumidifier (valued at $200). Today, with amazing advances in technology, nobody needs to suffer from isolation caused by hearing loss. Call us on 07 3878 8303 to book your free hearing aid assessment. When you Hear Better, you will live better!' Paula concluded.
Paula Stanz, the founder of Hear Better, is a university-qualified audiologist with over 13 years' experience in hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation. More information about the Hear Better clinic is available at hearbetterclinic.com.au.
