Australia’s Leading Construction, Mining and Services Contractor Innovates with Real-Time Mobility for Exceptional Service
Announcement posted by ClickSoftware 10 Dec 2013
The
ClickSoftware suite of solutions provides Thiess with applications to deliver
its services faster, more accurately and with sustainability in mind. The
mobility solution, connecting field workers to each other and back office
systems through handheld mobile devices, is driving process improvements
including:
- Reduced overtime, as a function of more accurate scheduling and deeper visibility into job details.
- Real-time, optimised scheduling ensuring the most qualified and nearby worker is sent to the right job, with the right equipment at the right time.
- Reduced administration and operational costs as a result of information being sent directly to backend systems from the field, and jobs being completed faster.
Previously,
field crews used paper time sheets to review and report on work being done in
the field. This took away time at the end of the day, was prone to errors, and
required administration work to re-enter them into the ERP system which
prolonged the billing and invoice processes.
“Thiess is
driving projects that are making a positive impact on the Australian landscape
and community, and we needed a scalable mobility solution that would help us
lower costs while increasing project productivity,” said Thuy Lam, Business
Applications Manager of Thiess. “ClickSoftware provided a solution to help us
operate more efficiently through real-time communication and workforce
management, and they completed the deployment in a very short time.”
The first phase
of the deployment provided field workers with mobile devices and apps making
communications and administrative processes easier and more seamless. The
second phase will completely automate the scheduling process, which will
further increase productivity gains by optimising schedules in real-time based
on factors including employee skills, preferences, location, driving conditions
and job priority.
“Mobile workers
and processes are becoming more critical as a key differentiator for
businesses, and ClickSoftware provides companies in all industries the tools to
remain competitive while offering a superior experience,” said Dr. Moshe
BenBassat, Founder and CEO of ClickSoftware. “As the speed of business
increases, ClickSoftware is enabling our customers to quickly realise the
benefits of our solutions with quick deployments measured in weeks, rather than
months.”
