Abodo Wood has proudly launched Elements Stratos, a range of exterior wood products featuring opX ^tm – a brand new wood preservative technology.  Abodo is a New Zealand based wood product business.

opX ^tmtechnology is the world's first water-based, low-toxicity wood preservative to combine plant-based oils and waxes with azole fungicides.

The waxes and oils provide wood stabilisation.  They naturally help protect the wood from moisture as well as reduce swelling and surface cracking over the life of the wood.  opX ^tm is water-based and uses organic preservatives.  This virtually eliminates solvent-based emissions after treatment, which means no nasty chemicals escaping in to the air after the wood leaves the factory.

An independent study commissioned in 2012 by Graham Environmental found waterborne azoles to be the lowest toxicity code compliant preservative in the H3 hazard class.

Stratos products comply with AS1604 H3 and NZS 3640 H3.1.  They are also suitable for exterior above ground use, even when fully exposed to the elements.
