Protect Your Assets - Jenlogix

Announcement posted by Jenlogix 24 Mar 2014

Auckland-based company, Jenlogix, has supplied technology solutions to a wide range of industrial customers and systems integrators since 1984 and they are now stocking a Seismic Switch which is made in Taiwan, a country that has over 18,500 earthquakes annually. This Seismic Switch GST-43-M is designed to provide effective control of systems in a quake.

GST-43-M is an advanced earthquake monitor which features a tri-axial MEMS accelerometer, a powerful 16 Bit 80 MHz industrial CPU. The MEMS accelerometer acquires vibration signal using 100 Hz sampling rate. The CPU filters this vibration signal with a digital low pass filter to minimize non-earthquake signals which are above 20 Hz.

One of the key features of the GST-43-M is the special earthquake detection algorithm. GST-43-M adopts the STA/LTA algorithm to detect earthquakes. This algorithm eliminates non earthquake vibration. As opposed to traditional earthquake detection algorithms, it uses modern numerical computation software, which carries out real time vector calculations. With automatic zero drifting compensation and high capacity FIFO buffer, it makes the GST-43-M stable and the high speed STA/LTA calculations achieve highly reliable earthquake detection. The GST-43-M is equipped with two digital outputs for emergency auto-reactions.

GST-43-M is not only a seismic switch but also an earthquake intensity indicator. It can display in real time the maximum intensity, maximum vector, tri-axial acceleration and instant tri-axial acceleration. The user can pre-set threshold of acceleration for the two digital outputs individually in order to protect crucial facilities.

The open connectivity of GST-43-M offers Modbus RTU /TCP protocol to seamlessly connect with PC, PLC and HMI (Human Machine Interface). It can manage up to three hosts simultaneously. This makes it easy to connect with broadcast and disaster prevention systems. It also provides an active connection to server option which enables it to be deployed in environments with no real IP network.  The GST-43-M internal time is kept within 1 second accuracy using NTP (Network Time Protocol).

Jenlogix is a wholly-owned New Zealand company, providing computer solutions to industry for more than twenty five years, with a long technical pedigree, a history of quality and a reputation for service which they take very seriously. They design, configure, source, build and assemble systems, including industrial computers, embedded systems, data entry/acquisition devices, communications servers and a variety of display technologies for heavy industrial/agricultural environments and also for less rugged commercial environments and are privileged to support New Zealand industry.
