Switch Design Takes Nike Lab On Sydney And Melbourne Tour With Hypervenom And Tech Pack

Announcement posted by Switch 27 Mar 2014

Earlier in the year, Nike Pacific based in Australia asked Auckland brand and design agency Switch to build an engaging brand experience space to tell the performance innovation story for both the Hypervenom Football boot and the latest Nike Tech Pack  product release. The space needed to have the ability to connect with multiple audiences including consumers, media and retailers and tell stories through multiple experiences. Added to that, the thing needed to be mobile through Australia.

Two 40-foot containers formed the base structure and were joined together which gave the Switch team a much more usable floor area and allowed the space to be split for transport. Working remotely, the innovative Switch team dealt with suppliers and partners in both Sydney and Melbourne to not only fabricate and build the exterior of the ‘lab’, but the internal spatial elements for both campaigns as well. A few trips across the ditch (and some sleepless nights) and the resulting activation was enormously successful for Nike Pacific, with thousands of people visiting the space over its two-month tour.

Last month, the team at Switch collaborated with MINI at the annual Urbis Designday, using a disused warehouse in Auckland as a canvas, showcasing four of MINI’s best options in a new light, just one more of the many assignments they have completed since they founded their multidisciplinary design studio in 1999.

Switch are experienced at a great many things, such as creative direction, art direction, branding and design for print, image (both still and moving), online and spatial while also ensuring they deliver their creations through sound project and production management, co-ordination and implementation. Having established now for 15 years Switch has significant knowledge and understanding of the industry, process and steps required to deliver creative projects and solutions which go beyond their client and consumers expectations. Switch like to constantly challenging the norm, average isn't a word used in the very creative graphic design studio, and while they love technology they still believe there is a place for good old craft. Switch love to play with others and they do it well, making sure they are judged by the quality of our creative friends as much as our work.

Along with the likes of Nike and MINI, Switch have an impressive stable of partners with whom they have strong relationships, whether they are established and well-known brands such Barkers Menswear, Max Fashion and Gen-i or smaller entities which may need a fresh voice such as Mondiale Freight Services and Digital Island Telecommunications they always give their clients the personal attention they deserve.
