Businesses turn to Aussie company after Dropbox fail

Announcement posted by Edocx 02 Jun 2014

Companies fearing security breaches that affected Dropbox and Box have been turning to Australian-based Edocx which has an added level of security.

This month's security flaw that enabled confidential files, such as personal tax returns and mortgage applications, to be accessed by strangers has caused business community fears, said Chris Love, Chief Architect at Edocx.

"Traditionally, users simply had to click on a link to access a shared file. That click can be logged or shared with services such as Google AdWords which can then lead to the link becoming available to strangers.

"Since Dropbox's problems occurred we've had a lot of interest from companies in the financial and property sectors seeking other providers with additional security measures in place.

"The team at Edocx employs the "Privacy by Design" principle - ensuring that privacy comes first throughout the business. Our  users were never exposed to this risk."
