Bella’s Secret Garden is a beautiful photographic reading experience with multiple interactive elements, sound effects and gorgeous narration by 5 yr old Bella.
Bella’s Secret Garden is a family development effort by Jemma Upson, a NZ born, Sydney-based professional newborn, child and family photographer and represents the culmination of many years of taking photos, sewing dresses, writing children’s stories and photo editing. As a developing photographer with a passion for sewing, Jemma practiced by taking photos of her young daughter, Bella, in the many different fairy dresses she had made. When Bella was 3, Jemma edited the fairy photos together with photos she had taken of her mother’s garden to create a beautiful bedtime story for Bella and her two younger brothers. A couple of years later Jemma learned about the amazing Photoshop plugin ‘Kwik by kwiksher’ and her family took on the challenge of turning the storybook into a magical iPad application for children.
