Monaco Solicitors are pleased to announce that Kasarne Burgan has joined our experienced legal team as a partner of the firm. Kasarne will head our medical negligence team in our Sydney and Newcastle offices.

Kasarne is a highly qualified lawyer and a Law Society Accredited Specialist in personal injury law. Her expertise in the field reflects 14 years of extensive experience in medical and professional negligence, motor accidents, workers compensation, work injury damages, public liability and superannuation claims.  Kasarne is a very active member of the Australian Lawyers Alliance NSW Committee and regularly arranges professional conferences. She also has a track record in defending and publicising the rights of the injured people, especially against the background of recent changes in the law, which restricted some of these rights.

Kasarne often travels between Sydney and Newcastle, her hometown, to speak with clients and attend regional courts in that area. She has extensive experience representing non-English speaking clients.

Kasarne has worked at the highest professional level, representing clients in the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and High Court of Australia. Her track record extends to the most complex cases, resulting in settlements with millions of dollars. She is a skilled researcher with strong analytical skills, which ensures that she assesses each individual claim with utmost care and due diligence. She has authored many legal papers both for her peer professionals and for members of the public.

Kasarne Burgen said: “I am very excited to bring my expertise and diverse experience in the personal injury field to professional team at Monaco Solicitors.”

Leon Monaco said: “We’re delighted to announce Kasarne joining our team. Her experience will be invaluable to our clients and her expertise will add to the intellectual capital of the firm.”
