Announced at the recent AICD End of Year Dinner in Cairns, Mr Singh's appointment bolsters the firm's association as a Queensland regional partner of the AICD and a supporter of the organisation's commitment to making a difference in the quality of governance and directorship across the State.
"Having served on the committee for two years, it is an honour to step up to the role of Chair," Mr Singh said of his promotion.
"My predecessor, David Kirchner, provided great leadership and vision during his tenure and I look forward to continuing to strengthen the AICD's position in the region along with my fellow committee members, including our newest recruits Victoria Cuda, Bobby May, Gail Rogers, and David Williams," he said.
"Providing personal support and a high quality advisory service to businesses across the region has been a long-standing focus for MacDonnells Law, and to align our ethos with that of the AICD is a great strategic pairing for the firm and our commitment to the Far North."
AICD Queensland Division State Manager Richard Moore said that Mr Singh's appointment and that of a handful of new committee members in Cairns would allow the AICD to tap into the real issues affecting regional directors, and provide the organisation with the opportunity to deliver tailored events and education courses that meet their specific needs.
MacDonnells Law celebrates its 130th year of service to Queensland businesses this year, following its establishment in Cairns in 1884. The firm has offices in Cairns, Townsville and Brisbane, and employs more than 121 staff including 47 highly experienced lawyers in five practice groups: commercial, litigation, government, insurance and family.
