Announcement posted by Sonos 06 Mar 2015
In January, Sonos announced the beta test of Sonos 5.3, an update which brought some new things to the Sonos experience, and fixed some things that weren’t quite right with the Sonos app.
5.3 is a direct response to the invaluable feedback by users and is now available for both Android and iOS devices.
Updating today means that users will enjoy simpler room control, an improved design for tablet applications, and a quicker way to go back and forth between screens!
Here are a few tips to get acquainted with what’s new:

Updating today means that users will enjoy simpler room control, an improved design for tablet applications, and a quicker way to go back and forth between screens!
Here are a few tips to get acquainted with what’s new:
- Three taps to party mode: Use the new dropdown at the top center of our app to easily group or ungroup rooms in just a few taps.
- Retrace your steps: Change your mind on what you want to play? Swipe down to instantly go from Now Playing to browsing. To go back one more, swipe right from the far left to view all of your music sources.
- Distractions welcome: If you want to go back to listen to a part you missed, the track progression bar is now more prominently displayed in your Now Playing screen, just below the album art. Drag it to whatever point in the song you want to play. Let the music come to life effortlessly. With today’s update, moving music around your home through the Sonos app is even easier and faster.
