Breakout Brisbane is a new adventure racing experience that allows teams the chance to race through an inner-city location to find significant Brisbane landmarks, as well as learning some history about this great city. The challenges combine puzzle solving, scavenger hunt activities and seeking trivia, requiring participants to use physical and mental skills throughout the course of the event.
According to Tourism Queensland, Brisbane attracts over 2 million holiday makers each year, with an additional 1 million business travellers. Vacationers often make their way to attractions nearby Brisbane, such as the Gold and Sunshine Coasts. Breakout Brisbane providesan opportunity to showcase Brisbane city and its hidden treasures to tourists, local residents and to businesses, through customised team building challenges.
Director, Denis Morton, says he saw a need to create an event that encouraged groups to be physically active, but also challenged the teams intellectually. “All of our events require teams to be strategic, tactical and creative. People don’t just wander around sight-seeing anymore, they want to discover the highlights of a city in an interactive way. Competing against other teams to complete challenges at checkpoints at some of Brisbane’s greatest landmarks has proven to be a very popular way to explore the city.”
Breakout Brisbane events have been taken up by a variety of groups since commencing in March, including birthday parties, corporate team building and international tourists.
Breakout Brisbane currently offers three challenges for teams to book into: CBD & Botanical Gardens, CBD & Roma Street Parklands and CBD, South Bank & Kangaroo Point. Events are available every weekend for small groups and seven days per week for private functions. Bookings for events can be made at www.breakoutbrisbane.com.au or by phoning (07) 3343 9472.
