JobAdvisor’s Search For Australia’s Coolest Companies 2015 Is On

SYDNEY, October 13, 2015 — JobAdvisor’s search for Australia's Coolest Company is on again. The competition aims to uncover homegrown gems of all sizes who have a great story to tell and to give them a voice to tell it. In 2014 the winner of “Coolest in Tech” was Envato, a marketplace provider of digital products created by a global community of 4 million+ creative professionals.

“It’s easier for legendary tech giants like Google to stand out from the pack. It’s pretty much impossible for smaller employers to reach or attract potential employees even if they’re an amazing place to work.” Ben Hutt, CEO of JobAdvisor said. “The goal of the competition is to help amazing Australian companies shine in the public eye, regardless of their size."

This year the competition goes beyond tech companies with the addition of the Australia’s Coolest Company for Women category. JobAdvisor is searching for companies that actively support equal opportunities, foster friendly working environments for women and have female employees who are proud to work there.

“The best employers for women aren’t necessarily ones with formal policies for gender equality in the workplace,” Hutt said. “We’re looking for companies that recognise people’s achievement by merit not gender, but who also understand the needs of their female employees and therefore make the workplace friendly and free of discrimination.”

Judges of the competition include experts in diversity, culture and recruitment. They include: Lisa Annese, CEO of Diversity Council Australia, Justin Babet, Founder of JobAdvisor and CEO of JobVibe, Karen Lawson, former CEO of CareerOne and Ben Hutt, CEO of JobAdvisor and Search Party.

Companies must have a free JobAdvisor profile as well as at least 5 recent employee reviews to be eligible to enter. This means that winners will be chosen based on application content as well as anonymous feedback from real employees.
