Dr Chris Lekich, the founder and medical director of Miami’s Venus Centre Vein Clinic, Vein Doctors Group and MetroCentre, has recently added to the Miami Day Hospital facility enabling it to become an advanced hands-on teaching hospital for up and coming procedural doctors.
The state-of-the-art hospital, located at 24 Hillcrest Parade, Miami, is purpose-built for the management of venous and lymphatic diseases such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), varicose veins and clotting disorders; and will see doctors from across Australia and overseas undergo training under the expert guidance of Dr Lekich and his colleagues at Vein Doctors Group, located next to Miami Day Hospital premises.
Dr Lekich said of the site “Facilities like Miami Day Hospital, where medical professionals and trainees alike can come together to workshop, lecture, treat patients and teach each other are vitally important to those in the community who suffer from vein disorders and the medical fraternity”.
The Miami Day Hospital site has a new Skills Centre, which can accommodate up to 70 delegates for workshops, demonstrations and conferences. The Australasian College of Phlebology has already secured their Live Procedural Workshop at the site on 27th February 2016. With national and international delegates to descend on the Gold Coast for this event, the facilities at the site offer the advantage of presentations immediately followed by live procedural demonstrations. The hospital is an accredited training site for preceptorships and advanced phlebology with The Australasian College of Phlebology. The Miami Day Hospital facility is a licensed Qld Health facility. The doctors at Vein Doctors Group welcome enquiries about attachments as an introduction to phlebology.
