Methode Electronics - Active Energy Solutions Announces New Partnership with Cloud Services Provider Oper8

Chicago, IL – March 15, 2016 – Active Energy Solutions, a business division of Methode Electronics, Inc. Oper8 is an Australian IT provider focused on delivering scalable solutions that now include the AC6000 Lithium-ion UPS.

The Methode / Oper8 partnership strengthens our regional presence in Australia and the South Pacific region. “From a portfolio perspective, the partnership provides a complementary product synergy between Oper8’s data storage and IT management offerings, and Active Energy’s in-rack lithium-ion UPS developed specifically for the data center,” said Emilie Stone, general manager of Methode Active Energy Solutions. 

The new alliance will drive greater brand awareness for the AC6000 and Oper8’s customer base interested in replacing lead acid with lithium-ion technology. “We’re finding that customers reliant upon an aging or unreliable grid are seeing the greatest ROI,” said Stone. “Lithium-ion batteries offer several improvements over lead acid including: reduced capacity degradation, high cycle life and fast recharge time.”
