Announcement posted by Sportsfuel 26 Apr 2016
Most of us know of David Nyika as winning the men’s light heavyweight division at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, but David has also won the New Zealand Junior National Championships three consecutive years in a row from 2011 to 2013, as well as the New Zealand National Championships the following year in 2014. Now David is building up to qualify and compete at the Rio Olympics.
David had suffered his first loss as a heavyweight to be eliminated from the world championships in Doha. Having been handed a first-round bye, he lost his second-round bout 3–0 on a unanimous decision to the then world's fourth-ranked amateur, Rustam Tulaganov of Uzbekistan. To date, David has won 42 fights and lost five of them.
David has been a Sportsfuel sponsored athlete for over a year now and has been on an intensive programme to build muscle, strength and power so he can compete with the best at the Olympics. David uses Musclepharm, arnold and Musclepharm black supplements because these products are tested for banned substances and certified by Informed Choice, a certified quality tester and trusted third party. This means the entire range is approved for athletes and double checked for purity.
Informed-Choice is a quality assurance programme for sports nutrition products, suppliers to the sports nutrition industry, and supplement manufacturing facilities. The programme certifies that all nutritional supplements and/or ingredients that bear the Informed-Choice logo have been tested for banned substances by the world class sports anti-doping lab, LGC. Athletes choosing to use supplements can use the search function above to find products that have been through this rigorous certification process.
MusclePharm Black Label Series is exclusive to Sportsfuel, with the black label signifying superior products for athletes who want elite results. David’s main supplement products are protein, mass gainer, fish oils, bcaas, and multivitamins, all contributing to David’s intensive training programme to set him up to make a good showing at the Rio Olympics.
