Announcement posted by Douglas Stewart (Chewton ltd) 27 Apr 2016
As we go to press with this release, Capital Crimes has gone to number one on Amazon/Kindle, with Doug Stewart’s contribution Inscrutable in the book of 10. This has pushed his name higher into the limelight, adding to sales of Hard Place featuring Stewart’s highly popular sleuth ‘Ratso’ as the protagonist.
Capital Crimes is a collection of short stories, all written by members of the International Thriller Writers, with Douglas’ contribution being selected by the publishers as the lead story among the dozen or so that feature. Each story in Capital Crimes is centred on London. Douglas’s contribution features Det. Insp. Todd “Ratso” Holtom, this time confronted with murder in London’s Chinese community.
Stewart’s latest book, Tables Turned is still not ready for publication, following delays at the publishers, but it should be available in time for Crimefest in Bristol in mid-May where Doug is on the platform. Tables Turned is about international casino crime, following an obsession for revenge against the cheating casino owners based in Las Vegas and London.
The new ‘Ratso’ story is almost finished and, according to Doug, he is down to the last few chapters which he hopes to finish over the next month for publication later this year. The working title is Deadly Fix but of course this may yet change. Following the ongoing success of Hard Place, Douglas is working on this follow-up thriller about a very different aspect of international crime – yet on a subject that is very dear to the hearts of New Zealand, Australia, West Indies, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh India, Pakistan and England. But the American market is very much taken care of with locations. Is there a clue there? This is due for publication in mid-2016. As a result of the accolades heaped upon Hard Place, Douglas involves Ratso again (actually Detective Inspector Todd “Ratso” Holtom) because so many people liked his character.
