Melbourne, July 27, 2016– Simient Pty Ltd won the prestigious People’s Choice Award at this year’s Hacking Health event run in conjunction with the Health Informatics Society of Australia’s (HISA) Health Informatics Conference (HIC). Simient also received an honourable mention from the judges, for their entry Children’s Health Integrated Mobile Passport (CHIMP).
Simient CEO John Stevenson said “Winning the People’s Choice Award at Hacking Health was a great honour for Simient and a testament to the hard work of our team and our partnership with Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital and the team at Children’s Health Queensland.”
CHIMP is an online tool that helps coordinate a care plan for a patient and allows their information to be shared amongst specialists in various clinics. It provides great coverage of care for the patient, clinicians and care givers and can provide monitoring of the patient’s condition on a regular basis. It utilises gamification to keep young patients engaged and involved in their health care journey.
The CHIMP tool will potentially be used in the future by Children’s Health Queensland’s Connected Care and Nurse Navigator Programs to enhance delivery of patient and family-centred care, delivering on their commitment to enhance care for children across Queensland and Northern New Sales Wales.
Run over three days, the Hacking Health event is designed to improve healthcare by inviting technology creators and healthcare professionals to collaborate on realistic, human-centric solutions to front-line problems. The focus is on delivering practical examples and integrated solution outcomes. http://www.hisa.org.au/hic/hackinghealth/
