Obsession Delivers a Powerful New Podcast

Announcement posted by The Style Podcast 18 Aug 2016

when passion meets technology, good things happen
A nosy journalist with the ability to get people talking has translated her private love of style and design into a dynamic new podcast with a unique twist.

The Style Podcast, hosted by journalist and former radio announcer, Penelope Herbert, combines audio with visual imagery, videos, infographics, and banners. This new approach has proved popular with both guests and listeners.

Not restricted to Australian guests, The Style Podcast has already interviewed creative people doing interesting things in the USA, Bali and Britain. Guests from Canada, Spain, France and New Zealand are on the podcast schedule.

A flair for asking the right questions saw Penelope Herbert spend seven years as a magazine features writer interviewing business leaders, CEO's and small business innovators.  She also spent two years as Editorial Director for a fashion & lifestyle magazine. With a desire to freelance, Penelope followed her personal passions writing about fashion, beauty, architecture, interiors, and lifestyle. Creating a successful blog, Don't Call Me Penny, and creating content for brands was a dream gig... but Penelope hankered to ask questions and tell people's stories.

"Having hosted a radio show on fashion & home, I knew it would translate well to a podcast and be more flexible and global than my radio show," explains Penelope. "I genuinely love being part of telling someone's story. Often people will ask me why I want to interview them or they'll suggest they are not interesting enough. I have never met a person in business who, if you scratch the surface, isn't interesting.

"I'm told I ask thoughtful questions and I make people feel at ease. Pretty soon interviewees are relating stories they'd forgotten, having their own 'Ah hah' moments, or providing just a little too much detail. They are all indications that I'm getting the real story."

Penelope says a podcast enables people to tell their own story rather than it being misinterpreted, wrongly reported or truncated by a deadline-driven journalist. Images help listeners on the website to see new designer collections, gain a better understanding of the topic, see how something works, or just be inspired.

The Style Podcast website is informative, inspiring, revealing and visual. Interviews are not charged and are by invitation only. Potential guests can get Penelope's attention by filling out an on-line Interview Request form.
