12 PDF Technology Experts to Discuss Document Management and Accessibility at PDF Day Australia in Sydney on November 25
Announcement posted by PDF Association 27 Oct 2016
BOSTON, MA (October 26, 2016) The PDF Association, the non-profit industry trade-group for organizations specializing in PDF technology, announced the agenda for PDF Day Australia. This unique event, taking place November 25, 2016, at the Cube event space on Macquarie Place in Sydney’s CBD, will feature a dozen PDF technology experts from North America, Europe and Australia.
“This is the first PDF technology educational event in Australia,” said Matt Kuznicki, PDF Association Chairman of the Board. “Since we have five days of ISO meetings the following week we decided to take advantage of the fact that these experts were gathering in Sydney to provide an opportunity for interaction with Australian policy-makers, managers and developers, and to provide some insight into the world of ISO standardized PDF technology,” Kuznicki said.
PDF technology is one of the most commonplace office
technologies of the 21st century. From large invoicing systems to
individual authors, users create, share, read, convert, file and process hundreds
of millions of PDF documents worldwide, everyday. The PDF Association is the
only organization dedicated to promoting awareness and adoption of
ISO-standardized PDF technology.
The event is hosted in Sydney by Canon Information Systems
Research Australia (CiSRA), based in North Ryde. CiSRA Engineering General Manager
Peter Wyatt is ISO Project Co-Leader of ISO 32000, the ISO standard for PDF
technology. “Through both standards activities and its technology developers,
Australia provides global leadership in document management theory, policy and
practice,” said Wyatt. “PDF Day events
are known in Europe and North America for their educational, informative and
best practice content, so it’s a pleasure to be able to welcome these international
experts to Sydney for Australia’s benefit.”
PDF Day events occur annually in Europe and alternate with
PDF Technical Conference events in North America. Founded in 2006, the PDF
Association has been staging events providing education and promotion of PDF
technology since 2008.
As is typical at PDF Day events, the day will open with a
fast-paced session in which each the various experts introduce the different
ISO standards for PDF technology in no more than two minutes each. Following the
introductory session, the two tracks of this PDF Day event will focus on areas
of interest to business and government alike: document management and
accessibility to users with disabilities.
PDF Day Australia will be held on November 25 from 8:45 am until
5:00 pm. Tickets are first-come-first-served, and cost $50. Additional
