Announcement posted by Tyco Fire Protection Products 01 Jun 2017
1 June 2017: Tyco Fire Protection Products, a division of Tyco, the world’s largest dedicated fire protection and security company, has announced that the official launch of the Simplex 4100ESi Fire Alarm Control Panel. With its scalable architecture and flexible system design, the 4100ESi will become the system of choice for medium to large facilities, including tunnels, hospitals, universities, prisons, airports and shopping centres.
The new generation 4100ESi is approved to AS7240.2, AS7240.4 and AS4428.3, and utilises new technology to build upon the quality and reliability of the Simplex 4100 series to deliver increased connectivity, higher levels of serviceability, manageability and value over its life-cycle. The 4100ESi incorporates an intuitive colour touchscreen that allows users to operate the fire indictor panel and easily control and monitor all zones, view and control individual addressable points, isolate specific issues and run reports. Programming time has also been greatly reduced; a basic 4100ESi configuration can be set up quickly in two simple steps.
The Simplex 4100ESi an ideal match for the AS7240 compliant two-way infrared enabled MX fire detectors, which can reduce false alarms due to its advanced chamber design and Fast logic Algorithms, minimising disruption. The 4100ESi is also backward compatible it can be incorporated into existing Simplex 4100 networks, and will interface to existing IDNet and a range of MAPNET detectors and devices. This makes the 4100ESi an ideal choice for upgrading older 4100 panels to the latest standards, or to future proof your installation so the next generation of spare parts can be utilised.
The 4100ESi is ideal for challenging environments and its scalable programming capabilities are suitable for networks of all sizes. Based on the latest technology, the powerful 4100ESi can control up to 2,000 addressable devices and up to 512 zones within its core software while retaining the flexibility to cater for individual and unique programming requirements. When used as a Network Display Unit (NDU), the 4100ESi can control up to 1028 zones enabling the user to see all zones in a network – without having to add separate panels, all from a single, cost-effective touch screen.
The 4100ESi incorporates an on-board help menu that helps users navigate, service and detect faults more efficiently. Furthermore, an optional SafeLINC internet interface card enables the 4100ESi to offer remote diagnosis of system issues and to send users email or SMS text message notifications if any faults or alarms are detected. This feature helps to reduce maintenance time, service visits and business disruptions.
The 4100ESi is equipped with a 10amp power supply to cover a broad range of installation
requirements.. Networking is easy to achieve and can be installed over vast distances. Up to 99
panels can be connected on a single network and up to 7 networks may be connected to a single
True Site Workstation graphical management console. Networked 4100ESi panels can be connected
by up to 3,500 metres of copper wire and as much as 30,000 metres of single mode fibre.
Commenting on the release of the 4100ESi, Dwayne Kuipers, Senior Product Manager of the Fire Detection product segment at Tyco Fire Protection Products said, “At Tyco, we’re always striving to improve and develop our proven and trusted products. The Simplex fire detection control panels have always had a strong reputation for reliability and withstanding the test of time. With backwards and forwards compatibility, the 4100ESi allows customers to integrate new panels with an existing Simplex 4100 site or network without having to commit significant time and labour to complete the transition. This increases the lifespan of existing 4100 systems and allows older installations to be upgraded in phases as time and budget permits. We’re excited to offer our customers this development which builds on the strong foundations of previous Simplex products while improving serviceability, reducing costs and saving time.”
Ensuring convenience and flexibility, Tyco’s Simplex 4100ESi is non-proprietary. Customers have the freedom to call upon any trained technicians for servicing, programming, system upgrades and the installation of spare parts. With multiple upgrade options available to purchase, the 4100ESi offers users simpler installations while ensuring system longevity, lower overall lifetime cost and a system that is able to seamlessly evolve to meet the facility’s needs and integrate with existing Simplex technologies deployed.
