Announcement posted by Sunshine 20 Jun 2017
Tuesday 20 June: Being a successful NDIS service provider in a community comes from investing in the right people and establishing open channels of communication. Sunshine, an NDIS service provider in Western Sydney, invests in local staff, providing holistic training and development programs, which fosters the growth of support workers within the company and allows clients to receive a high level of care from people in their community.
With over four million people in Australia reported to have a disability, the demand for a personalised, and quality service provider that offers a complete spectrum of support services locally, such as Sunshine, increases.
Disability support worker Epshita Dey, who works within the Blacktown community, has been with Sunshine for four years and a prime example of an employee who Sunshine has continually invested in. Ms Dey has flourished through the training and development programs offered and currently holds the position of Team Leader.
Ms Dey says, “When I initially started with Sunshine they provided in-depth training, I had minimal experience previously, so it was really great to be in a supportive company that trains you from the ground up. Sunshine was extremely supportive of my development; now as a team leader I feel really happy to be giving back and helping others on their journey within Sunshine.”
“Working within the Blacktown community I work with many different families, and I love being able to see my clients achieve progress – it’s a great experience. I work in an industry where you need to be caring, and I believe all the staff at Sunshine embody this trait, and really invest in the families and communities they work with,” Ms Dey concluded.
Sunshine is a person-centred organisation that consistently aims to create and maintain a workplace that promotes unconditional positive regard, valuing individuals and their contribution.
Sunshine’s General Manager Gail Jeltes says, “Our people are at the core of what we do, and we place a high importance of investing in our staff, so that they are happy, work to the best of their ability and continue to provide a high level of support. Clients always come back to us with great feedback about the work we do, because our staff go above and beyond to deliver, however all this stems from the company culture, structure and the level of happiness from our valuable workers”.
Through investing in local staff and fostering an open communication forum, Sunshine continues to provide high level of quality support to families.
