ABC to train new women footy commentators

ABC Victoria is opening a training course for female commentators seeking to cover footy matches.
Scheduled for three days in late March 2021, the ABC Sport Aussie Rules Commentary Workshop for Women will offer sessions and practical applications into sports coverage and the science of footy rules. The sessions will also include immersion with the help of AFLW players and current AFLW commentator Kelli Underwood.
Applicants should record and submit two five-minute samples of live commentary from two straight rounds of the current AFLW season, plus a two-minute video about themselves explaining their reasons to apply as a footy commentator. A questionnaire will also be required for completion of the application.
