ACM to cut 35 editorial positions amid revenue decline

Australian Community Media (ACM) has announced plans to reduce its workforce by cutting 35 editorial positions across its newsrooms, according to Crikey’s Daany Saeed.
In a statement released by the ACM National House Committee, it was revealed that during a town hall meeting with staff, the management shared the news, citing declining revenue as the primary reason.
In an email to staff, ACM Managing Director Tony Kendall confirmed the cuts, attributing them to the “loss of federal government advertising revenue, the loss of payments from Meta,” and “reduced revenue from display and classifieds advertising, as well as print circulation.”
A voluntary redundancy consultation period is open until September 11, with final decisions to be communicated by September 13. The last ...
