One Nation surge jolts Canberra as Labor and Liberals scramble
A cluster of front pages focuses on Pauline Hanson’s resurgent One Nation vote and the major parties’ competing diagnoses: Labor says hip-pocket pressure is driving protest support, while the Coalition blames Labor’s budget and broken promises. The political significance is immediate—both sides are recalibrating messaging on cost of living, migration and social cohesion as they try to stop preferences and primary votes bleeding in key outer-suburban and regional seats. She wrote “Reporting for the Financial Review has been an incredible privilege that landed me in places like the aftermath of the Lismore floods, papping Gina Rinehart at the No campaign’s victory party, and on-stage with many passionate founders and executives.
“As for work, I am open to freelance writing assignments while I figure out the regional Queensland rental market and long-haul removalists. Commissions, tips and career advice all welcome at [the email] hello@tessbennett.com”.

TV Today journalist Anjana Kashyap files ₹2 crore defamation case against Khan Sir
By Staff Writer in Media News on Monday, 08th June 2026 at 3:51pm
Senior journalist Anjana Om Kashyap and TV Today Network have moved the Delhi High Court seeking Rs 2 crore in damages against exam coaching teacher Faisal Khan, better known as Khan Sir, over remarks he made about her coverage of him. The suit, according to Live Law, targets specific phrases Khan used, including "bikau patrakaar," "chatukar," and "fake news dukaan" and seeks their removal alongside the damages claim.
The dispute between the senior journalist and Khan Sir reportedly began during a live television debate on the NEET exam system, where Kashyap allegedly called online teachers "frauds" and "exploiters" chasing views rather than serving students. Khan Sir responded on his platforms with language the journalist found actionable.
The whole controversy was triggered by the NEET-UG 2026 entrance exam’s cancellation on May 12, 2026, just days after it was conducted on May 3, affecting over 22 lakh candidates na

NEET Paper Setters To Be In Lockdown Till Re-exam
By Staff Reporter · The Times of India (Delhi Edition) · Page 1
Authorities have decided to place NEET paper setters under strict lockdown conditions — with no phone, internet, or team communication permitted — ahead of the re-examination, following the controversy over the earlier leaked question papers. The story outlines the new security protocol and the deadline for portal glitches to be resolved before the re-exam date.
While the NEET controversy is a widely-covered national story, this report adds procedural specificity about the lockdown protocol and portal deadlines that goes marginally beyond routine wire coverage, making it a qualifying original news story.

Use AI for speed, not for soul: How PR agencies are adapting to AI
By Pavithra in Media News on Monday, 08th June 2026 at 2:30pm
Artificial intelligence has rapidly moved from an experimental tool to a regular part of daily operations in many Indian PR agencies. What began as assistance for research and editing is now influencing how press releases are drafted, refined and distributed.
While supporters say AI improves efficiency and frees teams to focus on strategic work, critics warn that overreliance on automation could weaken originality, creativity and brand storytelling. As a result, many agencies are establishing internal guardrails around how AI is used, with human review, fact-checking and editorial oversight remaining essential before content reaches journalists.
The conversation is also expanding beyond productivity. Questions around transparency, accountability and content ownership are becoming increasingly important as clients seek clarity about AI's role in communications.
