1. "The Strategic Vulnerability in India's LPG Supply Model"
Author: Shrikant Madhav Vaidya (Former Chairman, Indian Oil Corporation) Page: 10 (Editorial)
This is the standout piece in the edition. Vaidya moves well beyond crisis commentary to deliver a rigorous structural analysis of India's LPG dependence — quantifying the demand-production mismatch, benchmarking India against Japan, China, and South Korea, and building a clear policy framework. The writing is disciplined and evidence-driven, moving methodically from diagnosis to prescription. The observation that India's problem is not merely import dependence but that imported LPG flows overwhelmingly into household kitchens — the one use "hardest to defer and hardest to replace" — is a genuinely sharp insight that elevates it above routine energy commentary.

Palki Sharma is done building other people's newsrooms, so she built her own
By Staff Writer in Media News on Tuesday, 21st April 2026 at 3:07pm
For over two decades, Palki Sharma Upadhyay has grown to become one of the most recognisable names in Indian broadcast journalism. The calm anchor, the pointed questioner, the journalist who made "Gravitas" on WION something people actually watched. She has passed through Doordarshan, CNN-News18, WION and Firstpost and at each stop she brought credibility to somebody else's editorial project. Now she is starting her own.
Multiple media industry trackers, including exchange4media, Business Media India and Newslaundry, have reported it as her own independent venture.
India Global Review, or IGR, is Sharma's bet that there is an audience hungry for something most Indian media has struggled to build: a globally minded newsroom that does not sacrifice editorial backbone to stay in business. The platform is digital-first, which is less a strategy than a statement of where the audience actually lives. And the timing matters. Sharma's last day at Network18 was March 31. By April she was

Lizzies Winners 2026: Best Corporate Content - Nate Cochrane
By Will McLennan in Media News on Tuesday, 21st April 2026 at 12:45pm
Winning a Lizzie requires both impact and a well-written entry submission, according to Nate Cochrane.
He says this after winning Best Corporate Contenat this year’s Samsung Australian IT Journalism Awards.
Cochrane provides the following advice for others hoping to one day place a Lizzie on their mantlepiece.
“You must sum up your strong points, plainly, quickly and clearly,” Cochrane told Influencing.
“You must answer the criteria. Respect the judges' time and don't frustrate them with irrelevancies. The secret that no one will tell you is that judges are looking for reasons to disqualify people or to count them out. Don't give them those reasons; keep them coming back to you for more. Spotlight why your content is superior and always tie it back to the criteria.”
Cochrane’s winning submission centred on a campaign commissioned by iTnews for Dicker Data and Microsoft Australia, aimed at alerting decision-makers to the end of support for Windows 10.
