LOOP FM never actually existed

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has cleared the air regarding the mysterious 99.1 LOOP FM channel in Toowoomba.
SCA-Darling Downs content director David Burton said the station’s repeat plays of certain songs, namely A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton and Something in the Air Tonight by Phil Collins, were borne out of programming decisions as a result of SCA Toowoomba’s relocation of its operating site and not a real station.
The station was never officially named LOOP FM, but was given that moniker by a local fan who also set up an unofficial Facebook page and created a requests phone line.
Burton clarified that the moving of the Toowoomba station saw the end of Kids FM on 99.1 and the songs were a temporary backstop pending a final decision on the fate of the frequency. DA...
