Gary Stark, former technology journalist and community radio broadcaster, has passed away.  Stark produced and co-hosted Sydney-based 2RDJ-FM 88.1’s Gadget Grill technology show. First with his son, Pickr’s Leigh :) Stark, and later with Geoff Quattromani, Alex Choros and Jason Murray.  The Gadget Grill show covered technology and gadgets in all their forms. Stark told Influencing, in a ‘5 Minutes With article back in 2010, that the show reflected “the underlying belief that tech and gadgetry should be fun”.  The show ran from 2005 until September 2019 on Sunday evenings, with all of Stark senior’s co-hosts joining him for one final episode.  Stark also owned and operated New Tricks – a site assisting over-50s with technology – between 2011–2013.  Stark was also a self-confessed consumer advocate. Data Beings unveils top news anchors by X engagement for March 2026

Data Beings has released its list of top news anchors on X by engagement for March 2026, with Shiv Aroor topping the chart. Aroor recorded 1,255,018 interactions across likes, comments, reposts, bookmarks and quotes during the month. He was followed by Rajdeep Sardesai with 545,078 engagements and Rahul Shivshankar with 367,794. Rubika Liyaquat closely followed with 366,385 engagements. Sushant Sinha and Aman Chopra recorded 224,248 and 199,237 respectively. Rajat Sharma logged 138,009 engagements, while Sudhir Chaudhary stood at 129,807. Amish Devgan and Meenakshi Joshi completed the top 10. In the remaining list, Chitra Tripathi led with 72,323 engagements, followed by Vasudha Venugopal, Padmaja Joshi and Shubhankar Mishra. Case filed against journalists over alleged misleading reporting

A case has been registered against journalists in Nagpur for allegedly circulating misleading footage related to an explosives recovery incident. As per Nagpur Today, a bag containing gelatin sticks and detonators was found in a residential area under the jurisdiction of Ganeshpeth Police Station, triggering panic among residents. Police and forensic teams rushed to the spot and seized the explosives. However, during the coverage, some news channels reportedly aired visuals claiming the incident had taken place in another locality. Police have termed the visuals misleading, stating that such reporting could have caused confusion and tension. Following this, a case has been filed against two editors and a reporter. Police said the investigation is ongoing and further details are yet to be disclosed.

Chennai Press Club conducts cancer screening drive

The Chennai Press Club, in collaboration with Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, organised a breast cancer screening camp for female journalists and the female family members of male journalists at its premises. The initiative aimed to promote early detection and raise awareness within the media community. The screening included mammogram tests, Pap smear tests, and dental check-ups. The camp was held on 11 April 2026. Several female journalists and family members were screened during the event, which was the first time the Chennai Press Club had organised such an initiative.
