Gujarat HC issues notice to journalist Mahesh Langa in anticipatory bail challenge
By Staff Writer in Media News on Friday, 28th November 2025 at 4:03pm
The Gujarat High Court on Thursday, November 27, issued a notice to journalist Mahesh Langa after the state government challenged the anticipatory bail granted to him last year in a cheating case, The Indian Express reported.
The case was filed by the Detection of Crime Branch in Ahmedabad based on a complaint from an advertising agency owner. The complainant alleged that he had transferred nearly Rs 29 lakh to Langa for different purposes, and when he later asked for the money back, he was allegedly threatened with negative publicity.
In November 2024, a sessions court had granted Langa anticipatory bail, noting that the offence carries a maximum punishment of seven years and that the dispute appeared to be mainly about non-payment of money, making it civil in nature.
The state government has now appealed that decision. Justice UT Desai admitted the petition and sought Langa’s response. The High Court will hear the matter again on December 11.
Delhi HC slams MHA over revocation of journalist’s OCI card
By Staff Writer in Media News on Friday, 28th November 2025 at 4:02pm
According to Newslaundry, Satter’s OCI status was cancelled last year for allegedly practising journalism without required permission and for work the MHA claimed was “maliciously creating adverse and biased opinion” against Indian institutions internationally.
Appearing for Satter, advocate Karuna Nundy argued that his journalism had been in the public interest and had even received awards. She said the MHA had cited one article written seven years ago about third-party user data issues in an app, and raised objections after several years. She added that although the MHA listed three dates of alleged violations, Satter had not published any article on two of those dates.

By Will McLennan in Media News on Friday, 28th November 2025 at 11:53am
Freelance technology journalist Leonard Bernardone has released his first video game, an arcade-style table tennis title called Little Homey: Table Tennis.
The game is based on Little Homey, a Brunswick café owned by Bernardone’s friend Chad, which hosts regular community table tennis competitions.
Bernardone said he had been learning game development for some time and wanted “something special to celebrate the space”.
“It features the regular customers and active members of the community, and is based on people’s actual likeness.” Bernardone told Influencing, “Currently, the two on screen are Chad, the owner of Little Homey and Hannah, a regular.”
The game sits inside the café and plays like a 3D version of Pong, using a joystick and three buttons to control movement and shots. Bernardone chose the arcade format because he has long admired it.

THE BRIEF: Right turn
By Tony Bosworth in Media News on Friday, 28th November 2025 at 6:14am
Morning, welcome to Friday. Lots of coverage today on Barnaby Joyce officially resigning from the Nationals after no less than 20-years with the party. The smart money says he'll soon announce he's joining Pauline Hanson's One Nation but you probably won't get good odds on that given Joyce has pretty much telegraphed the option. As usual though, politics is a funny old sport and anything could happen - Joyce has also hinted he could leave politics and join the private sector - which is why we have journalists reporting and keeping us all well informed.
At The Australian, Sarah Ison has an exclusive front pager on the subject with claims previous Opposition leader Peter Dutton had asked Joyce to resign from the Coalition "after the former deputy Prime Minister was found lying on the street," reports Ison of that event some time ago. Dutton denies the claims.
Also at The Oz, a Comment piece by Geoff Chambers says, "Coalition so
