Mumbai journalist recalls walking the globe, planting trees along the way

When former journalist Vishnudas Chapke left Mumbai on March 19, 2016, he expected to spend a few months travelling overland by foot from India to Thailand before returning home and perhaps writing a book about the experience.
Instead, he came back three years and three days later after travelling through 35 countries across five continents, becoming the first Indian to circumnavigate the globe largely by land.
But for Vishnudas, the most meaningful part of the journey was not the distance covered. It was the trees he planted along the way.
