By Jonas Lopez in Media News on Thursday, 25th November 2021 at 12:50pm
A bout of COVID-19 has forced NOVA Entertainment to close its Melbourne stations. The company ordered the closure after breakfast co-hosts Chrissie Swan and Jonathan Brown tested positive over the weekend.
“I feel basically fine so far – worst is the fatigue (though I think I’ve been tired for 20 years so I’m match fit)... I’ll be back on the airwaves soon – but from home. Update over!” said Swan in an Instagram post.
The third co-host, Sam Pang, was confirmed safe, even though he and Brown had a round of golf on Saturday.
The staff of NOVA Melbourne and smoothfm have been ordered to go into isolation and be tested before any work-recall orders are issued.

Journalist Ravi Nair moves HC against non-bailable warrant in defamation case
By Staff writer in Media News on Tuesday, 22nd September 2026 at 3:08pm
The Gujarat High Court has issued notices to the state government and Adani Enterprises on a petition filed by journalist Ravi Nair, challenging a non‑bailable warrant (NBW) issued against him by a Gandhinagar sessions court.
An Indian Express report noted Nair was taken into judicial custody on September 17 after the sessions court rejected his plea to cancel the warrant. He had earlier been convicted of criminal defamation by a Mansa magistrate court in February and sentenced to one year’s simple imprisonment with a 5,000 fine over tweets and articles concerning Adani Enterprises.
Although granted bail during appeal proceedings, the sessions court required his personal appearance. His lawyers, Abhik Chimni and Ronith Joy, argued before the High Court that the NBW was issued without first serving a summons or bailable warrant, contrary to Supreme Court precedent.
Justice M.K. Thakker issued notice to the respondents, making it returnable on September 21.

GST rate rejig helps consumers upgrade
By Aabhas Sharma & Asmita Dey · The Times of India, New Delhi · Page 18
One year after GST rate cuts on automobiles, consumer electronics and FMCG goods, the story tracks the uneven impact across sectors: passenger vehicle dispatches hit a record 12.7 lakh units in Q1 FY26 and two-wheelers rose 20%, but TV shipment growth stalled after the Iran war triggered uncertainty, and FMCG volume gains are now being eroded by rising input costs. The report draws on Siam data, Counterpoint Research trackers, and on-record statements from Intex and Liberty Shoes executives.
Uses a one-year anniversary peg to compile cross-sector data — autos, TVs, FMCG — with named corporate sources and quarterly granularity, delivering a genuinely analytical assessment of policy impact rather than
