And the Press Freedom ‘Razzie’ goes to… OpIndia and Adani Group again
By Meena R. Prashant in Media News on Tuesday, 03rd November 2026 at 4:50pm
The Adani Group and the digital platform OpIndia have been named on Reporters Without Borders’ (RSF) Press Freedom Predators List for the second consecutive year. They sit alongside US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Chinese Communist Party among 33 individuals and organisations the Paris-based watchdog accuses of attacking journalism.
RSF released the 2026 list on November 2, the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists. The organisation describes it as a tongue-in-cheek awards list. RSF Director-General Thibaut Bruttin called it “a bit like RSF’s version of the Razzies.”
"The Press Freedom Predators List is a tongue-in-cheek honours list of the worst of the attacks and abuses directed at the press," he added.
The Adani Group appears in the legal category, which covers actors RSF accuses of using abusive legal proceedings against journalists and media outlets. RSF places the conglomerate al

Newly appointed That’s Life content producer Samantha Elliott says she would love to hear from PRs with case-study-led, human-interest stories.
She told Influencing, “I would love [PRs] to have a look at the magazine. It is hard for us to pull a story from a press release. We do write stories in first person from the perspective of someone specific.”
"I'm always on the hunt for something great," she added. "If it's exclusive, even better. For our mag, or at least women's interest, that's always awesome… I’m excited to get to work and jump into the role.”
Elliott joined the magazine last month and her role focuses on feature writing.
“I cover real-life stories. These are stories that have just happened to your everyday people. Bonus points if they're Aussie. We cover different pillars in the magazine: crime, medical, inspirational, sad, that kind of thing.”

INSIDER: GCCs must move beyond headcount and office launches to build reputation
By Pragadish Kirubakaran in Media News on Tuesday, 03rd November 2026 at 4:07pm
India's Global Capability Centres (GCCs) may belong to some of the world's largest companies, but many remain relatively unknown to the Indian professionals they want to attract. According to Udit Joshi, Partner at SPAG FINN Partners, the problem lies partly in how these organisations communicate their value.
Speaking to Influencing India's Influencing Insider, Joshi argued that GCCs need to move beyond conventional announcements about office openings, employee numbers and infrastructure investments to demonstrate the innovation, career opportunities and business impact they create.
"Almost every GCC that's come to India" begins its communications with ribbon-cutting photographs, he observed. Announcements about office space and headcount often follow, but these are largely vanity metrics that do little to differentiate one organisation from another.
Instead, Joshi believes GCCs should highlight the technologies they develop, patents they file and problem

Sourabh Chandrakar, extradited from Oman, is considered a prized catch for central agencies probing the Mahadev Online Book illegal betting and money-laundering network estimated to have generated Rs 94,000 crore in proceeds of crime, with alleged funding of elections and 'protection money' to bureaucrats and politicians. The 116 accused named by CBI and ED include former Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and senior police officers. The story traces Chandrakar's trajectory from a Rs 15,000-a-month juice-shop worker in Bhilai to Dubai luxury villas, with investigators estimating he spent Rs 200 crore on his wedding.
