David Ross joins the crew as a business journalist. He possesses a wealth of freelance reporting experience, including writing for News.com.au and covering the European Parliament.
The paper’s cadetship program brought in five new staff from hundreds of applications.
Rhiannon Down and Nicholas Jensen come in from Victoria. Down, in particular, had spent a year with News Corp Australia as editorial assistant/breaking news reporter.
Joseph Lam of Queensland is a QUT journalism graduate, with experience writing for publications such as the South China Morning Post, ABC, and China Daily.
