The jury recognised Mathew for her in-depth political reportage, her ability to break significant developments from Parliament and national politics, and her engaging conversations with influential personalities from varied spheres. The award commemorates Dr Mangalam Swaminathan, the respected journalist and writer. Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Nimuben J Bhambhaniya attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
