Journalist Sudhir Chaudhary told the Delhi High Court that he had removed social media posts that allegedly misidentified activist Vikram Sherawat as the person who called for the destruction of Parliament during the July youth protests.  Sherawat, a civil services aspirant, has filed a ₹5 crore defamation case against Chaudhary and Doordarshan News over the posts.

Journalist Ravi Nair remains in jail after the Gujarat High Court declined to grant him interim relief in his challenge to a non-bailable warrant issued in a criminal defamation case filed by Adani Enterprises Limited. The court has reserved its order for September 30. The case dates to a private complaint Adani Enterprises filed in September 2021 over a series of posts Nair made on X between October 2020 and July 2021, along with articles published on Adani Watch, which the company described as false and defamatory. Agartala Press Club (APC) member and veteran photojournalist with Daily Desher Katha, Bikash Kole, died at GB Hospital on Tuesday morning following a fatal fall at his residence. He was 79. Kole had been unwell for the past few months and was undergoing treatment for heart-related health issues. APC vice-president Chitray Roy said Kole had moved to Tripura from Kolkata and joined the Information, Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department as a photojournalist. He later worked in different parts of Tripura before joining Daily Desher Katha as a senior photojournalist. “I had a very close professional relationship with him. We covered many programmes together. He had a great relationship with reporters, and he was a very good photographer,” Roy said.
