Publicis lands international Mercedes-Benz gig

The agency landed the account after six months’ pitching to the carmarker, during which WPP and Omnicom submitted their own ideas for the brand.
Under the new partnership, Mercedes-Benz’s PR dealings in Australia will be under Publicis’ aegis while Saatchi and Saatchi will take care of other creative materials. A new Publicis agency office, Publicis Emil, will be opened in Berlin with current group COO for Europe and Latin America Justin Billingsley in charge. However, Publicis will not handle market PR work for Mercedes-Benz in the US, Germany, and China – other creative agencies are handling the tasks in all three countries.
