Chennai Press Club plans cultural events for Women’s Day

The Chennai Press Club organised a badminton tournament for women journalists as part of International Women’s Day celebrations, inaugurated by S. Madhumathi, IAS.
The pair of Lavanya and Sowmiya won first prize, followed by Aarthi and Ramaniprabha Devi in second place, and Pavithra and Jerusa in third. Organisers praised the enthusiastic participation of women journalists.
The Press Club will host a special Women’s Day programme on March 8, 2026, at 3 pm, featuring dance, music, games, speeches, an exhibition, and prize distribution. Senior journalists, film artists, political leaders, government officials and activists are expected to attend, with all journalists and their families invited.
