Senior journalist Subrahmanya G. Bhat, popularly known as Suji Kurya of Vijaya Karnataka, has been unanimously elected president of the Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association for the 2025–2028 term. Nazir Polya of Vartha Bharathi was elected general secretary, while Harish Kundar of Suvarna News will serve as treasurer. According to Dadajiworld, the results were announced by election officer Manjunath from the Udupi District Information Department. In the contest for the state executive committee, Udayavani photojournalist Astro Mohan won with a margin of 44 votes. Vice presidents elected unanimously include Prabhakar Acharya Chitturu, Uday Kumar Mundkur and Uday Kumar Shetty. The secretaries elected unopposed are Umesh Marpalli, Suresh Ermal, and T. Lokesh Acharya Tekkate. Newly elected executive committee members include representatives from TV9, Public TV, Vartha Bharathi, Vijayavani, Kannada Prabha, and other media outlets across the district.

A video share by Bharat Samachar from Uttar Pradesh’s Firozpur has gone viral, showing a woman assaulting a journalist with slaps and a slipper. The incident, caught on camera near Jain Mandir Subhash Tiraha on Nov 7, shows the woman hitting the journalist multiple times on the face and head while abusing him. The journalist, identified as Rahul Upadhyay, has lodged a police complaint. He alleged that while covering a news story, four to five people attacked him and filmed the assault. The woman, identified as Muskan, allegedly broke his phone and later shared the video online. In the clip, a man can be heard accusing Upadhyay of being drunk, The Free Press Journal reported. Upadhyay claimed the group demanded Rs 50,000 to stop the video from going viral and named Muskan, her husband and others in his complaint. Apple, Samsung, Oppo and Nothing were among the winners in this year’s EFTM Best Awards, revealed on Thursday night at the ALPHA Restaurant in Sydney.  Despite not being an events man himself, Long said of the evening the “after work drinks” event went really well.  “The vibe I got was that everyone had a great night, and some PR people were describing it as the annual tech PR networking event, which is pretty cool.” Long added he was both humbled by the turnout and grateful the night was well received.  He said it was lovely to see people from different companies networking as individuals and not as competitors.       The event was officially opened by Channel Nine’s Karl Stefanovic, who spoke of his admiration for Long, and their personal friendship.
